From the smallest committee in our community, To Central Government themselves we see corruption. Corruption seems to be a part of life now here in Britain. At the same time we condemn other countries because of their corrupt ways. So do we start from the bottom and work upwards or from the top and work downwards. I guess we will start with our own communities.
There was a time when we only had a Tenants and Residents Association in our estates. Now things have changed, Councils want to shift their responsibilities, From Housing to control of our estates and money. Many houses have now been handed over to Housing Associations, Soon after the rents will rise and evictions rise. The poor suffer. The time taken to be able to acquire a Council or Housing Association Home is far too long . Years in many cases, This depends upon who you know that can assist in the decision making ? ? ?
1999. Saw the appearance of the Regeneration Funding and cash from Europe. Millions of pounds thrown at communities. Forums were formed in order to decide what to do with this money and decide the changes that an estate would want. Whilst this money was available residents and tenants came out of the woodwork at the smell of money. My own estate saw a vicious fight for control and chair of committees. So much so that people suffered in their personal lives and also suffered personal attacks on themselves and their families. Many people living on the estate had little say in what was to happen. The money begins to go so do many of the committee members. New centre's and a new school came to be and we saw money being wasted and fraudulent contracts made. Houses refurbished at great cost using bad labour as well as inferior products.
The Police on our estates can be very good, But there is a minority of corrupt and bad Officers that are out of control. These same officers can be seen at Demonstrations such as the G20 in London Recently, They are not only corrupt, But also nasty and violent. Nothing is done to stop them. Many of our youth have no criminal record but are victimised by these same Police Officers. These same Officers that strip search in Public and embarrass youngsters for a laugh. Then assault them if they try to complain. Confiscate cannabis and refuse to give receipt for this. Then use this for themselves. Claim they have been assaulted in order to claim the automatic compensation they are given. Have competitions to see who gives out the most fixed penalty notices. Enter and search property without a warrant. There are many acts of corruption that can be said of our local Police. But this will have to be a separate blog.
The Councils and our Councillors. Well if you think that Westminster M.P's have had a good time at our expence then look to the Councillors. This is where M.P's that are corrupt get their training. Many of them have been local councillors.. Corruption eats at the heart of British Society. Ignorance Corruption can be found in many places within the Police Force. Who will protect the British Public from these corrupt people.
